I just wanted to say thanks. Over the past year, the training with you and Ryan has given me far more than improved fitness. It’s given me space to slow things down and really understand what I’m capable of — physically, mentally, and over time.
The structure of the work taught me to trust the process properly. Each session had a reason, each week quietly building on the last. Progress didn’t come in big flashes, but in small shifts — holding a pace longer, staying calmer under effort, recovering better. That gradual change has been one of the most rewarding parts.
Ultra-Trail Snowdonia really brought that home. I ran the race in a way that felt controlled and honest, and it wasn’t until deep into the race that it truly started to feel hard. That didn’t happen by chance — it came from months of consistency and respecting the work.
What’s stayed with me most, though, has been the change in perspective. I’ve spent years brushing past my own achievements and moving straight on to the next challenge. Our conversations helped me pause and actually acknowledge the depth of what I’ve done — from shorter races to long endurance events like the Spine — and to recognise the quiet confidence that should come with that. Not ego, just a grounded belief that if I show up, commit, and stay patient, I can do more than I once allowed myself to believe.
So, thank you — not just for the training, but for the perspective that’s come with it. It’s something I’ll carry forward into whatever comes next.
